2019 Jingle Bell Run Honorees

Caroline B. McCulley, MD
Deschutes Rheumatology
Medical Honoree

Dr. McCulley is a second-generation rheumatologist who was raised near Portland, Oregon. She studied English Literature while completing the pre-med requirements at Santa Clara University as an undergraduate student. While in college, a year of studying and volunteering abroad in South Africa solidified her desire to become a physician. She returned to Oregon and worked as a Patient Advocate for a year prior to starting medical school at Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU). She completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Providence Portland Medical Center and returned to OHSU to pursue a 2-year fellowship in Rheumatology.

In September 2018, Dr. McCulley was thrilled to join the Deschutes Rheumatology clinic in Bend, seeing patients from all over Central Oregon and working with a dedicated and compassionate staff. She enjoys seeing patients with a wide variety of rheumatologic and musculoskeletal conditions, including, but not limited to, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus and other connective tissue diseases, osteoarthritis, gout, and osteoporosis. She also is a member of an American College of Rheumatology subcommittee, which enables her to work with a national team to affect broader policies and considerations which impact both rheumatologists and patients. She is grateful to the Arthritis Foundation for funding her fellowship training at OHSU, and looks forward to continuing her annual participation in the Jingle Bell Run in order to support the foundation and the patients it serves.

In her free time, she loves to run, hike, ski, paddle, read, cook, and travel with her husband, John, and dog, Polly. They are also excited to welcome their first child into the family this January.
