It’s a double WIN for CARRA and The Arthritis Foundation when you join a local Walk to Cure Arthritis team: Whichever Walk to Cure Arthritis team you create or join, the monies raised from your team will not only support your local Walk to Cure Arthritis’s fundraising goal, but it will count towards CARRA’s overall fundraising goal as a National Team. Supporting this event is a “WIN WIN” situation: we WIN by impacting our local communities that both organizations support, and we WIN by supporting the Arthritis Foundation on a national platform.
Here’s how you can support our role as a National Team for this year’s Walk to Cure Arthritis:
Create a team under the CARRA umbrella. Find a Walk to Cure Arthritis in your local area by searching the “upcoming events” section on this page. Click the “register” --> then “create a team” --> under “team type,” select “National Team” --> select “CARRA” --> fill in your contact information to complete the registration.
The Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) is a research network of pediatric rheumatology health and research professionals who have joined together to conduct research to answer critical questions about pediatric rheumatic diseases such as arthritis, lupus, and dermatomyositis. Our mission is to conduct collaborative research to prevent, treat and cure pediatric rheumatic diseases.
We have created a network of pediatric rheumatology research centers across (primarily) North America that work together on research studies like the CARRA Registry, a long-term observational study which seeks to enroll more than 10,000 patients and follow them for at least 10 years. The Arthritis Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of CARRA since its inception and is a major partner in support of our research to improve outcomes for children with rheumatic diseases. We are grateful for their generous financial support which not only continues to make the Registry possible, but has been instrumental in our ability to provide important research grants to our pediatric rheumatology investigators.
When we work together, we increase the number of children who participate in studies and reduce the amount of time it takes to reach valuable conclusions which will advance the health and quality of life of children living with arthritis and rheumatic diseases.
